Adaptations: How Animals Survive

Adaptations help living things survive in their habitats. Use this guide to spot what an animal has or does, then explain how it helps.

Adaptations: a structural adaptation is a body feature; a behavioural adaptation is a behaviour. Explain the feature or behaviour, what it does and how it helps survival. Penguin flippers propel it through water to catch food. Emperor penguins huddle to reduce heat loss and stay warm in the cold. Check all three links; saying helps it survive alone is not enough.
